After obtained Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Loyola University of Chicago, I came to New York. For more than twenty years, I worked at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in several different fields including organic chemistry, biochemistry, particularly enzymology, molecular biology, cell biology, animal studies, and etc. For the past ten years, I have been working on understanding of molecular mechanisms involved in pathology of metabolic diseases and how nutrient intake affects genome-wide gene and protein expressions.
Starting from February 2023, fortune brought me to Dr. Gudas’ laboratory. It is such an honor to have the opportunity to work in a well-run laboratory doing cutting-edge biomedical science in a prestigious medical school. Under Dr. Gudas’ direction with vision and up-to-date technical details and surrounded by intelligent and hard-working colleagues in the lab, I am applying my knowledge, skills and experience to investigate the important roles of retinoic acid receptors (RARs) in maintaining the health and normal functions of kidney and to study the therapeutic potentials of agonists of RARs in prevention and treatment of kidney diseases. At the same time, I am also investigating the roles of activating transcription factors (ATFs) in kidney cancer. Besides enjoying working in the lab and walking in a busy city, I enjoy traveling in the world, hiking in the mountains, playing racquetball and dancing.
