I was born in Basel, Switzerland, and made my way across the pond to grow up in Millburn, New Jersey. I graduated from Cornell University in 2014 with a BA in Biological Sciences and Government. I started my career at Intracellular Therapies, Inc. in New York City in 2015, where I had the opportunity to work with a brilliant team of inspiring and creative scientists. I worked in the Analytical Chemistry department helping to develop and characterize small molecule therapeutics for psychiatric illnesses. I began the Pharmacology Ph.D. program at Weill Cornell in 2018, where I worked on DNA damage repair pathways and chromatin remodeling at satellite DNA-rich genome regions. At the outset of the coronavirus pandemic, I took leave to work on expanding access to PCR-based testing and developing robust and adaptable pooled testing platforms for SARS-CoV-2. Upon returning to Cornell, I took the opportunity to join the Gudas Lab, where I am studying the roles of retinoic acid receptors in the contexts of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and in maintaining healthy kidney function. I enjoy scary movies, herpetology fun facts, trivia nights, basketball, hanging with my cats, and being a retired college rugby player.
